ATA BOZACI

The Swiss artist of Turkish origin grew up in Burgdorf and exhibited works with the German artist Stefan Strumbel and the late Basel graffiti artist Sigi von Koeding, known as “Dare”, and street art pioneer Blek le Rat. The “international artist, graphic designer and graffiti writer from the very beginning” (Wikipedia) became known to a wider audience when he was commissioned by Gunter Sachs, together with Dare, to design his apartment in Velden at Lake Wörth. Bozaci’s most striking work to date is probably a 27-metre-high mural in Shenzen, China, which shows a baby on a smartphone.

For a while, he worked almost exclusively on the computer and compiled an overview of his digital portraits in the book “Fifteen Seconds of Fame”, published in 2015. For more recent works that he exhibited in Zurich in 2019 – for which he focused on immersion in connection with social media – he again painted with spray cans and brushes.

Ata Bozaci is married and has a daughter; he lives and works in Zurich. www.bozacistudio.com
